United Instruments of Lucilin gründet eigenes Label

In a significant development for contemporary music in Luxembourg, the ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin has taken a decisive step by founding its own record label, Lucilin Records. Established in 1999, the ensemble has built a reputation for its dedication to performing and promoting avant-garde musical works, and this new venture marks an important extension of that mission.

The creation of Lucilin Records aims to provide a dedicated platform for innovative projects that arise through collaborative efforts between the ensemble and contemporary composers. By doing so, the group seeks to enhance visibility and accessibility for new music that might otherwise remain underrepresented in traditional recording outlets.

Lucilin Records' inaugural release is scheduled for November 15 and features the album "Territoires," composed and crafted by French sound artist Florent C. Darras. This work was recorded in collaboration with United Instruments of Lucilin, further emphasizing the ensemble's commitment to close partnerships with living composers and sound artists.

The decision to launch an independent label reflects a broader trend among specialized ensembles aiming to maintain artistic control and foster closer relationships with creators. For United Instruments of Lucilin, this move reinforces their identity as champions of contemporary music culture within Luxembourg and beyond.

Since its founding over two decades ago, United Instruments of Lucilin has consistently engaged with cutting-edge repertoire, often bringing lesser-known compositions to audiences. The establishment of Lucilin Records can be seen as a strategic evolution that not only secures a medium for documenting their work but also serves as a conduit for nurturing emerging talent and experimental sound practices.

Details about future releases and projects under Lucilin Records remain limited at this time. However, the label's launch signals a promising commitment to sustaining and enriching contemporary music dialogues through meticulous recordings and artist collaborations.

The ensemble’s initiative aligns with a growing recognition of the need for dedicated platforms that prioritize experimental and contemporary music genres, which traditionally face challenges in gaining mainstream exposure. Lucilin Records thus emerges as a vital resource for composers and performers seeking to push musical boundaries.

In sum, United Instruments of Lucilin’s establishment of Lucilin Records represents a forward-looking effort to consolidate their artistic vision and foster a thriving community around contemporary music creation and appreciation in Luxembourg. The upcoming release of "Territoires" by Florent C. Darras will serve as the label’s first testament to this new chapter.
