Star Detective Precure! Anime Film Reveals Main Trailer, Staff Members, Ending Song

The latest installment in the renowned Precure franchise, Star Detective Precure!, is set to expand its narrative with an upcoming feature film titled Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu. This highly anticipated movie, marking the 23rd major anime entry in the series, recently unveiled its primary promotional trailer along with significant details regarding its creative team and music contributions.

Scheduled for release in Japan on September 18, the film promises to deepen the franchise's mystery and adventure elements. Under the direction of Hanako Ueda, known for her work on projects such as You and Idol Precure♪ and Summer Time Rendering, the movie is crafted to blend dynamic storytelling with compelling animation. The screenplay is penned by Yoshimi Narita, who brings her experience from previous Precure films like Eiga HappinessCharge PreCure! Ningyō no Kuni no Ballerina.

Musically, the film boasts an engaging soundtrack featuring multiple artists. The ending theme, "FIRST PRISM," is performed by Yūka Masui alongside Chihaya Yoshitake, both of whom contribute a vibrant auditory closure to the film. An insert song titled "First Step," delivered by Ami Ishii, is also highlighted, complementing the narrative's emotional landscape. To support audience engagement, official dance lesson videos for these songs have been released, inviting fans to connect with the music through choreography.

Visually, the film benefits from the artistic direction of Risa Fujii and the character design expertise of Emiko Miyamoto, who also serves as the chief animation director. Miyamoto's role ensures consistency in aesthetic quality, linking the new film to the broader Precure universe. Additional technical roles, including color design by Satoshi Takezawa and compositing by Takumi Arai, contribute to the film's polished presentation.

Narratively, the story centers on the Star Detective Precure team as they confront the enigmatic "X Mark Incident." The plot introduces a fairy named Rain, who enlists the team's assistance to investigate disturbances within a picturesque location known as Karin's Garden. This garden is threatened by small creatures called "Dame Dame," whose presence disrupts the harmony of the environment. The detectives' pursuit of the truth behind these creatures uncovers deeper secrets intertwined with the garden's fate.

The film also features appearances from characters of previous Precure series, including You and Idol Precure♪ and Wonderful Precure!, thereby weaving together various threads from the franchise's extensive history. This crossover element enriches the film's appeal to long-standing fans while maintaining accessibility for new audiences.

The Star Detective Precure! anime series itself debuted earlier this year on February 1, airing on ABC TV and TV Asahi. The storyline follows Anna Akechi, a middle school student from Makoto Mirai Town who travels back in time from 2027 to 1999 with the aid of her companion fairy, Pochitan. During her journey, she meets Mikuru Kobayashi, another aspiring detective. Together, they combat the Phantom Thieves who disrupt people's lives, employing their detective skills and Precure transformations to safeguard their community.

Musical themes for the ongoing series have also been noteworthy, with Ami Ishii performing the opening song "Heart ni Hint! Meitantei Precure!" and Akane Kumada alongside Yūka Masui handling the ending themes. The integration of music and story enhances the series’ dynamic, a quality that the forthcoming film aims to continue.

Streaming accessibility has expanded the franchise's reach, with Crunchyroll offering the Star Detective Precure! anime to audiences across continents including North and South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East, and the CIS. This global availability underscores the franchise's growing international footprint.

While specific plot details remain limited beyond the initial synopsis, the combination of seasoned staff, returning musical talents, and a captivating storyline suggests that the Star Detective Precure! film will be a significant addition to the beloved franchise. Fans and newcomers alike can anticipate a blend of mystery, heart, and high-quality animation when the movie premieres later this year.
