Fuerza Regida acepta el Premio Vanguardia en los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina: ‘Vamos a conquistar el mundo’

In a landmark moment at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Fuerza Regida was celebrated with the coveted Billboard Vanguardia Award, recognizing their pioneering role in redefining Mexican music on a global scale. The ceremony, held at Miami's James L. Knight Center and broadcast live by Telemundo and Peacock on October 22, showcased the group’s ascent from San Bernardino, California, to international acclaim.

Formed in 2015, Fuerza Regida has steadily built a reputation for pushing creative boundaries within the regional Mexican genre. Their fusion of traditional sounds with contemporary influences has not only expanded the genre’s reach but also attracted a diverse audience worldwide. This award highlights the band's ten years of relentless dedication, creative vision, and cultural impact.

The group’s frontman, Jesús Ortiz Paz, accepted the award alongside bandmates including Moisés López, José “Pelón” García, Khrystian Ramos, and Samuel Jaimez. Their gratitude extended toward their fans, family, and label Street Mob Records, reflecting on the collective effort behind their success. The presentation of the award was made by fellow labelmates Clave Especial and Los Gemelos de Sinaloa, artists representing the new wave of Mexican music innovation.

Fuerza Regida also delivered a vibrant performance during the ceremony, joined by Mexican-American artist Chuyin in a spirited rendition of “Pues ya ni pedo.” Their stage presence, marked by coordinated white outfits and the symbolic mask embodying Chuyin’s persona, energized the audience and underscored their cultural roots.

The Billboard Vanguardia Award is reserved for artists who challenge conventional norms and pioneer new artistic directions. Fuerza Regida’s receipt of this honor underscores their role as trailblazers who have transformed the landscape of Mexican music by blending bicultural influences and reaching audiences beyond traditional boundaries.

Commercially, the band boasts impressive statistics, with over 46 million monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 35 billion streams accumulated throughout their career. Their twelve Billboard Latin Music Awards nominations in 2026 further attest to their industry recognition and continuous relevance.

Among their chart-topping hits are collaborations with major artists such as Shakira on “El jefe” and Óscar Maydon on “Tu boda,” the latter achieving the number one spot on the Hot Latin Songs chart and ranking highly on the Billboard Global 200. Their 2025 album, 111XPANTIA, set records by reaching number two on the Billboard 200 and securing number one on the Top Latin Albums chart, marking one of the most successful Spanish-language releases in U.S. history.

Fuerza Regida’s milestones extend beyond the studio. They were the first regional Mexican band to perform at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival and have made notable appearances in cultural events such as Paris Fashion Week. Their live performances have set new records, including the highest ticket sales for a Latin band at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome and sold-out shows at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl.

Looking ahead to 2026, Fuerza Regida is embarking on the first-ever stadium tour in the United States for a regional Mexican group, signaling their expanding influence and the growing appetite for their genre. The band also participated in a “Superstar Q&A” event during Billboard Latin Music Week and headlined the concert Billboard En Vivo, events that further solidify their stature in the Latin music industry.

The 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards recognized several other distinguished artists, including Cristian Castro with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Rubén Blades as Billboard Icon, and Rosalía inducted into the Billboard Hall of Fame. Fuerza Regida’s acknowledgment among such luminaries highlights their significant contribution to contemporary Latin music.
