Peel Dream Magazine announce expanded edition of Taurus album

Los Angeles-based drone-pop ensemble Peel Dream Magazine is set to revisit their 2025 mini album Taurus with an expanded edition, slated for release on November 11 via Topshelf Records. This edition will mark the first time Taurus is available on vinyl, a notable milestone for the project.

The expanded album will incorporate four tracks previously unreleased to the public. Among these is the new single "Blind Faith," which originated during the creative period of their 2024 record Rose Main Reading Room but was only completed recently. The other additions include "Lot to Tell You," "Ruins," and "Fear of the Other," enriching the original tracklist and offering listeners a broader perspective on the band's evolving sound.

The upcoming release follows a productive few years for Peel Dream Magazine, which debuted in 2018 with Modern Meta Physic. That debut saw a deluxe edition released just last year, demonstrating the band's commitment to revisiting and expanding their earlier work. Taurus itself sits between these albums in the band's discography, and the expanded edition aims to bridge their past and present sonic explorations.

Peel Dream Magazine’s distinct identity draws inspiration from John Peel, the influential British DJ known for championing underground and experimental music. The group’s style is an amalgamation of motorik krautrock rhythms, shoegaze textures, and elements of space-age pop, a fusion that has defined their sound since inception.

Thematically, the new track "Blind Faith" delves into introspective territory, exploring the complexities of mental navigation and the challenge of breaking repetitive, unproductive thought patterns. This thematic direction aligns with the band's tendency to blend atmospheric soundscapes with contemplative lyricism.

In addition to the album’s rollout, the band plans to celebrate the release with a vinyl launch event scheduled for November 12, 2026, at Zebulon, a well-regarded venue in Los Angeles. This event will provide fans a chance to experience the expanded Taurus material live and purchase the album in its new physical format.

The full tracklist of the expanded Taurus edition includes original songs such as "Venus In Nadir," "Taurus," "The Band From Northampton," "Letters," "Seek and Destroy," "Down From The Trees," and "Believer," alongside the newly added tracks and a demo titled "Take It."
