(VIDEO) Coco Jones Marries Cavaliers Star Donovan Mitchell as Their First Dance Video Goes Viral

In a union that has drawn considerable public interest, Grammy-winning singer Coco Jones and Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell exchanged vows on August 1, 2026. The ceremony, which followed their engagement announcement in July 2025, was characterized by an intimate atmosphere, blending the worlds of professional sports and music.

The couple, who began dating in 2023, have largely kept their relationship under wraps until recent high-profile appearances and now their wedding. Footage from the event, circulated widely on social media, captures a heartfelt first dance to Musiq Soulchild’s "Love," an emblematic moment that resonated strongly with attendees and fans alike. Jones appeared in a flowing veil and elegant reception gown, while Mitchell opted for a cream-colored tuxedo, both complementing the venue’s understated cream and floral decor.

The guest list reflected the couple’s dual prominence in entertainment and sports, featuring notable NBA players such as Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, and Bam Adebayo. Also in attendance were singer Ciara and her husband, former NFL quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson played a pivotal role in the couple’s journey by introducing Mitchell to the event planner responsible for the proposal, which further underscored the close-knit relationships within this circle.

Jones had previously discussed aspects of the wedding during the 2026 Grammy Awards, expressing a desire for the event to maintain a sense of closeness despite their celebrity status. Mitchell’s admiration for Jones extends beyond their personal relationship; he has publicly praised her dedication and professionalism, particularly after supporting her on the "Why Not More" concert tour, highlighting a mutual respect that underpins their partnership.

Their romance, first made public through joint appearances over the last two years, has been marked by significant moments, including Mitchell’s onstage presence at the Super Bowl LX following Jones’s rendition of "Lift Every Voice and Sing," and shared celebrations during the Cavaliers’ playoff run. These glimpses into their relationship have helped build a narrative of a deeply connected couple balancing demanding careers.

Mitchell’s summer has been notable not only for his nuptials but also for his professional achievements. Securing a $273 million contract extension with the Cavaliers earlier in 2026, he has solidified his long-term future with the team. His performance during the 2025-26 NBA season was stellar, culminating in his second All-NBA team selection.

Parallel to Mitchell’s basketball success, Jones continues to advance her musical and acting careers. Building on her Grammy-winning status, she has released singles such as "Luvagirl" and "Body So Tea" throughout the year, maintaining a strong presence in R&B and beyond.

The couple’s wedding, while an intimate gathering, symbolizes a broader cultural moment where two high-profile figures from intersecting industries unite. Although neither Jones nor Mitchell has publicly commented on the ceremony, the event’s coverage by attendees and the viral nature of shared videos have cemented it as one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the season.

As their professional and personal lives continue to evolve, Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell exemplify a partnership that balances public acclaim with private moments, underscoring their shared dedication to their crafts and to each other.
